Good food. We went on a Saturday evening in January so wasn't busy at all. My husband loved the fresh rolls and pad Thai. We also got the curry. Was plenty of food for two adults and two toddlers. It is located upstairs.
I visit this spot a lot since I work close by. I got to say the service is always good and they keep the place well kept consistently. Rates are fair and they serve generous portions.
Had the buffet, was good. Unique decoration upstairs. Service was friendly.
Ordered online, and the food was the worst thai food I've ever eaten. The pad thai had no flavor at all; it was as if they had thrown in the chicken and shrimp into the dish as an afterthought - if I can even call it chicken or shrimp. Seriously, I have never eaten something and been disturbed because I didn't taste anything. When was the last time you ate a shrimp that tasted like nothing? It was just strange. It was not good. I'm not sure if they were too busy or what, but it was bad. I usually never leave reviews, but I felt this warranted one. Do not recommend - there are plenty of other thai places in the city.
Nice restaurant. Good pad Thai and the spice shrimp soup is super tasty! Fish cakes are also good. Mango and sweet rice is lovely for dessert.
Has exotic interior & style that is slightly outdated. Food is great & tasty. Good Thai restaurant in Downtown!
Food was fine, but I waited 45 minutes for my entree to come, and eventually had to leave to make it to the Flames game and get it to go. And they still charged me for it! Seemed woefully understaffed and disorganized. Will not return.
Interior was gorgeous and serves were super nice... but the buffet food was kinda disappointing
Their buffet is terrific and while it's toned down on spice to cater for the general public it still has plenty of flavor. I love ordering from here because you can choose your spice level and customize. I will note while it may be short on veggies in some of the dishes as opposed to other restaurants their sauces pack a punch and you don't notice! The only reason I took down a star is their portion sizes are very small compared to any other restaurant/cuisine for take-out. Containers are only half-full. That being said they are fairly priced. However, being one of the best spots for Thai cuisine in the city I would be happy to pay more for a larger serving!
Highly recommend making a stop if you’re on Stephen Ave or downtown. It’s upstairs and very decorative. They also have TVs for game nights. Definitely try the dinner for 2. It includes spring rolls, green curry with a choice or protein and a pad Thai along with dessert. All that for $40 and will feed you comfortably.
Good ambience and nice food
We had the best Thai food we have ever had in this restaurant. We visited from England and had the menu for 2 at 40 Canadian dollars. We had Thai spring rolls to start and then Thai green curry and Pad Thai with coconut rice. For pudding we had a selection of jello, sticky rice and something else, not sure what, but was delicious.) The wine and beer were good. Total bill 55 Canadian dollars - really good value.
Hands down the best Thai food in Calgary, possibly Alberta. Having spent a lot of time in Thailand, I can say this is the only restaurant I've found in the city that offers such authentic and fantastically delicious food.A bit hard to notice if you're not looking for it, it is upstairs off Stephen Avenue between centre and 1 St SW. Highly recommend trying it if you haven't.
Take the stairs up, and you are in a cozy place. Ok, decoration might be a bit overdone - but not the food. Service is as one can expect in an Asian restaurant, very good. Got the fresh spring rolls, which I always need to try in a thai place. Very fresh (veggie ones), and easy to share with two. 4 spring rolls, chopped to 8. Then a red prawn curry with coconut rice. It just tasted very good, very fresh. Nothing beat fresh ingredients. I do not think you can be disappointed here. And it is a nice hide-away from the busy shopping street
We had reservations at 12 noon. When I arrived the hostess said, "Oh you friend is already here. Just walk in and you can find her. Maybe by the windows." The restaurant is long so by default you will see everyone as you walk towards the windows. The buffet was quite sparse - both in selection and amount available. I counted about 9-10 hot dishes, 3-4 cold dishes (salads, salad rolls), 1 soup (which my friend said tasted water down) and a selection of desserts. I would have to continually stand at the buffet station and wait for staff to refill the dishes. When they refill th station, they do not return with a full buffet serving which is probably why they keep running out.
An excellent buffet with a variety of hot and tasty selection.
This place’s decor is so cute and authentic to the Thai culture. The food was made quickly for pick up, and customer service was great. However, the vegetable pad thai, literally had like 5 pieces of vegetables in it.
As owner of "A Laptop Repair Shoppe", we enjoyed a family event with 12 people, absolutely yummy, the service was great, very authentic tastes and decor.
Yummy Thai food served in authentic blue/white pattern dishes. The fresh rolls were delicious and I appreciated their small size as they were easier to dip into the sweet chili sauce. Unfortunately the curries (green and panang) lacked in flavour, but still good enough to get my Thai fix and I'm sure I'll be back.
I visit this spot a lot since I work right next to it. I like how their customer service is always good and they keep the spot well kept at all times. Prices are fair and they serve generous portions.
This place simply knows how to please their clients. Consistently with a helpful mindset. The food is conveniently priced, constantly yummy and clean.
Love the coconut cream on the rice and the green curry. Excellent service and great ambience!
I went for because their will give you a to go container for their lunch buffet. I actually thought it was double the length because of the mirror before I agreed to it. Very few items, but most were good, the pad thai was quite flavourless, the spring rolls were empty, but them came in just as I was finishing packing it up but only a few. The salad rolls were tofu filled, and I did not care for them at all. The soup was the best part but the soup container was more the size of a dip container. I will go back but it will be awhile.
Took them two hours to get an order ready, delivery apparently wasn't available so I had to pick up the food that was sitting on a table cold, never got even a phone call about the order status. Finally got home and there was no rice for the curry. They offered to refund the cost of the rice only. Absolutely garbage service, the food was awful too it went straight into the garbage. Shocked at how bad this place is.
Great spot for a yummy and quick lunch. Favs were the soup, coconut rice and beef curry. Good food at a good price.
Went for the lunch buffet today, and it was a terrible experience. There was a lot of rush, but the portions coming in were so tiny that at least half of the dishes were not there at any time. The service was terrible too. Servers looked stressed. The food - whatever was available - was okay, but the overall experiences sucked! When I brought this to the attention of staff and cashier, they didn’t bother. Why run a buffet if you can’t handle the rush!Never going back there again. DO NOT RECOMMEND! If you like Thai Food, there are so many better options around.
I absolutely love this place, been a huge fan for a couple years now. It’s a hidden gem on Stephen Ave.
This review is only in regards to the dinner menu (never had lunch here) I like the atmosphere, Food is great, service is excellent. I always get the Seafood Pad Talay. Writing this review is making my mouth water.
Very good.. but also far too expensive. RoseGarden should adjust their prices to reflect the state of the local economy. I’m sure they would attract far more patrons to their restaurant to make up any difference. It’s weird being the only few people in for dinner.
Excellent food, very nice staff, always awesome mood. They charge convenient pricing and the food quality is excellent. Keep up the good work.
Lovey cozy spot on Stephen Ave but be forewarned - a long flight of stairs to get to this upper level restaurant and no elevator. Their buffet is smaller but stellar flavours. Get there early for Friday lunch if you have no reservations. Because it's cozy, it usually fills up quickly. Welcoming service tops the Rose Garden experience - we're always happy chappies when we leave!
Such friendly staff! We did the lunch buffet until 2pm and had a lovely time eating del ious Thai food. I would definitely come back here if I’m ever in Calgary again!
This lunch buffet was small, but the food was outstanding! The only disappoimtment was that they ran out of mango/sticky coconut rice desserts! I will definitely be going back here!
Great variety and quick service. Was quite outstanding to see a full size budist altar embedded inside. Price wise, on the expensive side of things if you buy many dishes and drinks to share as a group. Overall good experience!
